World’s biggest sheep, lamb and wool forum attracts record crowd to LambEx 2024

Australia has cemented the claim as host to the world’s biggest sheep, lamb and wool forum, LambEx 2024 drawing a record delegation of 1,300 plus for the three-day event being held in Adelaide this week 7-9 August 2024 (previous record = 1,005 in 2018).

A forum that encompasses the entire supply chain from producers to processors, exporters, researchers and service providers, LambEx returns from a six-year break, launching back on the agricultural calendar as one of the most valued and progressive industry events.

LambEx 2024 Chair and South Australian producer, Jason Schulz said early optimism has translated into excitement with delegate numbers exceeding initial expectations.

“We are thrilled the industry has responded and recognised the value of LambEx as a pivotal industry event – where there is incredible opportunity to broaden your thinking, acquire new knowledge and get a grasp on what is happening beyond your local patch,” he said.

“To attract more than 1,300 industry members to attend LambEx 2024 is outstanding and we are really excited about the week ahead. In particular, most pleasing is representation from across the country and from international counterparts with delegates from New Zealand, USA, Canada, England and Scotland.”

There is so much to look forward to at LambEx 2024 and 70% of delegates have never been to a LambEx before meaning the event is attracting new thinking and industry members.

“LambEx is about unifying the industry and bringing people together from the different sectors to find innovative solutions to drive Australia’s sheep industry forward and I am really excited to have a lot of first-timers to the event,” said Jason.

“I am really proud of the LambEx 2024 program, and our LambEx Committee behind its curation, for the diversity, depth, and breadth of topics covered and that you can pick and choose your own LambEx journey – and there is a lot of choice!’, he said.

“There has been a fair amount of heat on the Australian sheep industry of late from live export discussion and market volatility through to environmental and climatic factors in an almost perfect storm of events, so LambEx comes at a really timely moment for the industry to reset, celebrate its achievements and pave a progressive future direction,” he said.

‘I encourage people to come to LambEx with an open mind and be part of the conversation. There is so much to explore, learn and people to connect with that can really make a different to improve and enhance your business,” said Jason.
